B.A.N.D. Fargo Bluegrass Jam

Held on the third Sunday of each month, this jam lasts from 2:30 to 5:30 PM at the Edgewood Vista, 4420 37th Ave. S. Acoustic bluegrass instruments (guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, upright bass and dobro only, please) are welcome! 

Probable Fargo Jam Tunes, songs, and usual keys: Rocky Top (G), I Saw  the Light (G), Down Yonder (G), ‘Til the Answer Comes (D), John 3:16 (G), Lonesome Road Blues (G), Old Joe Clark (G), Dear Old Mother (G), Lamplighting Time in the Valley (G), Little Mountain Church House (G).

“An open bluegrass jam session is one where anyone with their basic playing/singing skills in place can join in. If you want to do bluegrass music on bluegrass instruments, you’ll be welcome at official B.A.N.D. jam sessions. If you want to play other music styles in your bluegrass instruments, we’ll put up with you for a couple jams until you can find some bluegrass numbers to contribute. 1957 was the year when bluegrass music was first listed as its own genre. Our jams utilize the instrumentation and backup playing styles of bluegrass music from that year as the model to emulate.”
