Bluegrass Goes Pink
July 27, 2019 @ 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
$10.00By Jill Wiese of Cottonwood Band
Well our 8th annual 8th annual Bluegrass goes PINK at the Cross Ranch State Park right outside of Washburn. We began this event in memory of my sister Barb Yonker Wild 8 years ago…………….we have decided this event needs to happen each year and ALL of the proceeds go to the Bismarck Cancer Center for our patients. My sister Barb would have loved this. Our patients receive a free massage from our massage therapist and they receive a free gas card as well as see our dietitian and our social worker as well as to be able to stay at our apartments for a very low fee. This is all from monies from the foundation. Our band Cotton Wood www.cottonwoodbluegrass.com and our families are so honored to put this event on along with all of the Washburn churches too. This year our event is dedicated to some very special women. Mary Kay Neils (Schmitke) grew up in Bismarck and lived for 35+ years in Portland, OR sadly passed away nearly 2 years ago from Lymphoma. We grew up together and I am so honored to bring her family together for this event. She is a Bismarck High School grad of the 1977 class. Also, Lesbia Abril of Antigua, Guatemala we will remember who died this past April of cancer. Too young. Also Deann Neuberger of Hazen who passed a year ago of cancer. All of these women died too young and we want to remember them in July on the 27th at the Cross Ranch State Park. We will begin the day with a FUN 5/10 K walk/run on the beautiful trails of this park. At 5:30 pm supper will be served-Free Will offering by the Washburn Churches. Concert with Cotton Wood will begin at 7:00 pm. Candle lighting will be around 8:15 pm. I hope many of you can make it out to this very special event again this year. If you have any questions give me a call 315-0017. We look forward to raising some $ for this very awesome foundation who serves so many patients each day.
