The Bluegrass Association of North Dakota provides scholarships for young musicians who wish to improve on their musical techniques on their instrument (violin, guitar, standup bass, dobro, banjo, mandolin, or ukulele). They can be beginners, intermediate, or advanced. This is for ages 18 and younger. Workshops available for them that we recommend is the Minnesota Bluegrass Winterfest in Plymouth, MN held in March or the Old Time Fiddler’s Camp in Bottineau, ND held in June. We fund youth workshop camps in other states of choice also. The scholarships can be up to $450.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEARN TO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT IN ONE HOUR?
Beginner jam classes are available every second Saturday of the month from 11:00am – noon at The Buffalo Museum (upper level) in Valley City, ND. Interested people of any age can come without an instrument because B.A.N.D. has bluegrass instruments, (banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, standup bass) for sharing in the class. You can learn to start playing an instrument in one hour by simply learning two basic chords. 2 chord songs are played along with other musicians who are there to help. No charge.
